Below you will find detailed information about the AskBeat Smart Recommendations App and how to use it. Should you have any more questions, do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
AskBeat Smart Recommendations displays product recommendations, in the form of a widget, on all your product pages, as long you set the "Activate widget" toggle to "On" at "Setup widget" in the App’s dashboard.
Product recommendations may be:
If you set manual recommendations, they will be displayed in your recommendations widget at all times, unless they are out of stock. If you do not set any manual recommendations, then all recommendations for your widget will be generated automatically.
All you have to do is to select the products in the "Manual recommendations" field at "Setup widget" > "General settings". Important note: Only currently available & in-stock in our system items will be available for selection. We update our system with your products every hour and you can see the exact datetime of the last update at "Getting started" in the App’s dashboard.
There are two cases, in which your manual recommendations may be less than the number of recommendations set to be displayed in the widget:.
In both cases, all in-stock manual recommendations will be displayed in the widget and the rest places will be filled with automated recommendations, as generated through the algorithms that AskBeat Smart Recommendations use.
Example 1: you’ve set 5 products for manual recommendations and 5 product recommendations to be shown in the widget. 2 out of the 5 products are currently out of stock. In this case, the widget will display the 2 manual recommendations and will fill the rest 3 places with automated recommendations.
Example 2: you’ve set 3 products for manual recommendations and 5 product recommendations to be shown in the widget. In this case, the widget will display the 3 manual recommendations and will fill the rest 2 places with automated recommendations.
Exactly as with manual recommendations, you have to select the products in the "Excluded products" field at "Setup widget" > "General settings". As with manual recommendation, you can only select system available & in-stock items for exclusion.
No. To avoid showing your customers the same product recommendations over & over, we shuffle the generated recommendations each time a customer visits a product page. As such, if, for example, a customer refreshes the product page or comes back again later, product recommendations will not be exactly the same.
Your products get updated automatically every hour, so that the widget will display products with up-to-date descriptions, pricing & available variants only. You can see the exact date & time of the last update at "Getting started" in the App’s dashboard. If you’ve made lots of changes in your inventory, you can either deactivate the widget until the products are updated or contact us through the chat widget to update your products asap.
As mentioned, your products get updated on an hourly basis. As such, if a product became unavailable after the last products update, this information is not yet received by our system. The product will stop being displayed in the recommendations widget, when the next products update will run.
If you don’t apply custom styling, AskBeat Smart Recommendations will automatically apply your theme’s styling to the recommendations widget. This means that the font sizes, font styles, colors, CTA buttons styling & dropdown menus will simply match your theme’s styling, without you having to do anything!
If you’ve set the "redirect to cart" toggle to "On", then customers should be redirected to the cart page.
If you’ve set the respective toggle to "Off", then customers should remain on the product page they are. Yet, if customers are redirected to the cart page, this means that this option is not compatible with your theme, so customers are redirected to their cart instead. In any case, contact us if this is not working for your theme and we'll check your theme's compatibility.
Yes. If you've enabled selling in multiple currencies in your store, then your recommendations widget will display product prices in the currency that the user has selected (presentment currency).
Yes, it is. AskBeat Smart Recommendations App is designed for using any language you prefer.
No, If you use multiple languages for your store and you want to display the recommendations widget in various languages, then our App is not going to cover your needs, as our recommendations widget supports only one language.
Product pages are of great effectiveness for cross selling, as customers are still in "buying mode", meaning that their buying intent & decision can still be influenced. Unlike, order pages, where customers have already paid for their order, product pages are of high influence potential.
If your remaining impressions equal to 0, then the widget will stop being displayed in your store. AskBeat Smart Recommendations widget will start displaying again, as soon as your remaining impressions do not equal to 0 AND the "Activate widget" toggle is set to "On".
You can check your remaining impressions at any time in the "Remaining impressions" field, founder under the "Subscription"menu of your AskBeat Smart Recommendations dashboard
In any case, AskBeat Smart Recommendations will send you two email notifications, using your store email address, when:
AskBeat Smart Recommendations offers 30-day subscription plans, meaning that your impressions get renewed every 30 days. You can see your plan’s period at "Subscription" in the App’s dashboard, where the renewal date is clearly stated in datetime UTC format.
If you’ve ran out of impressions and you want them to get renewed earlier than the beginning of your next App billing cycle, then you can upgrade your plan to one (pre-set or custom paid plan) offering more impressions.
If none of our subscription plans fits your needs, you may contact us and ask us for a custom subscription plan. If you are OK with our proposal, we will then create a pending shopify charge and send you a link to authorize the recurring payment in your Shopify dashboard.
All charges are handled through Shopify. When you decide to purchase a paid plan, you will be asked to authorize Shopify to charge you with the relevant subscription fee at the start of each of your Shopify billing cycles. This means that your Shopify billing cycle and the App billing cycle may not coincide: AskBeat Smart Recommendations charge is applied every 30 days from the day you accepted the charge and charged on the 1st day of your next Shopify billing cycle.
Sure. You may cancel a subscription plan (free or paid) at any time, simply by uninstalling the App, through your Shopify dashboard.
You may also cancel a paid subscription plan by switching to the free plan instead.
Please keep in mind that, according to Shopify terms of service, if you cancel a paid subscription plan before the end of the 30-day App billing cycle, Shopify will not refund you for the remaining App time period.
We do not collect or process any of your customers’ personal data, so a DPA is not necessary. If you believe that, for any reason, this is not valid for your case, then please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
